BOWIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Bowie Police Department arrested a suspect who was involved in three armed robberies within the month of September in Bowie, Md., police said.

Police made the arrest on October 17 after they had determined the name of the suspect. The three robberies happened on Evergreen Parkway, Midwood Lane, and Laurel Bowie Road.

The suspect pulled out a handgun, and stole items from the victims in every incident, authorities said. Police were able to recover the items stolen from the victims, police said.

In announcing the arrests, Chief John Nesky said, "Detective Wuthrich did an outstanding job of tracking leads and tenaciously pursuing this case. Hopefully this arrest will provide closure for both the victims and the community." Mayor G. Frederick Robinson is also pleased with the Department's efforts in this case, saying, "This was excellent police work. The Bowie PD continues to make us proud."
